Helping Oncology Patients Explore-Genomics (HOPE-Genomics) is an interactive, web-based, point-of-care tool that
1) educates patients about genomics.
2) enables direct-to-patient return-of-results.
3) facilitates sharing of genomic results within families.
By providing patients with direct access to their sequencing results and information on cancer genomics, the app aims to increase patients' engagement in their care, increase patients' personal and general genomic knowledge, and improve doctor-patient communication and satisfaction with care.
This application is developed in collaboration with Dr. Stacy Gray to support her research grant. The tool is currently available in English, Spanish and Mandarin-Chinese. The app uses FHIR for data exchange and it uses Redcap for data curation.
