Research Projects

Collaborating with translational researchers on their data science needs that include machine learning (ML) algorithms, natural language processing (NLP), data visualization and mathematical modeling. Some of projects that resulted in journal publications are as follows:

  • Tree based ML algorithms were applied to prioritize thermos-stabilizing mutations for G-protein coupled receptors in collaboration with Dr. Vaidehi Nagarajan.
  • Mathematical modeling (fractals, game theory)  are being used to study various aspects of SCLC (Small Cell Lung Cancer) , NSCLC (Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer) patients in collaboration with Dr. Ravi Salgia and Dr. Prakash Kulkarni.
  • We are also applying machine learning algorithms to intrinsically disorded proteins (IDPs), implicated in many disease states, wherein we are developing algorithms to predict disordered regions within proteins based on their primary protein sequences in collaboration with Dr. Ravi Salgia and Dr. Prakash Kulkarni.
